As we reflect on the end of 2025 and welcome 2026, we’d like to thank you for your prayers and support.
The image above was taken outside our front door on a recent crisp morning, where the sun was shining and a sea of clouds was visible below us in the valley. Praise is a natural response when we find ourselves in settings like this, because one can’t help but see God in everything (Psalm 19:1–6). But how do we handle the times when one thing after another goes wrong and we feel like we just can’t catch a break? In the past few months, we’ve been faced with some persistent health issues in the family, uncertainties due to recent civil unrest, and economic concerns caused by problems with the local banks.
We are far better off than many people even here in Honduras are—not to mention other parts of the world—and we are grateful that our health, societal, and monetary apprehensions are not characterized by words like “inoperable”, “civil war”, and “bankrupt”. All of our struggles have been an opportunity to humble ourselves before the Lord, casting our burdens upon him, knowing that he will exalt us in due time (1 Peter 5:6–7). In the meantime, we our grateful that as with earthly parents, our Heavenly Father is not unaware or unmoved by our afflictions, and that he will use them for good (Romans 8:28).
Prayer Requests
- For God to glorify himself through our lives and our efforts
- That God continue to meet our needs (spiritual and material) so that we can be who he wants us to be and thus do what he wants us to do
- For God to continue working on my process of seeking dual US/Honduran citizenship
Ministry Updates
To avoid further multiplying of words here, I’ll just say that not much has changed in ministry since our July 2025 Update, except that we concluded our pastor training program. The students were really committed and stuck with it for the duration (every other Saturday for over a year).
For 2026, I feel God’s hand heavily on my shoulder and am currently developing an apologetics course that I want to am compelled to deliver to whomever will listen. So far my target audiences are pastors (so that they can incorporate apologetics into their discipleship programs) and regular churchgoers (to help them think through the many and convincing reasons for being a Christian). Please join me in praying for opportunities to share this important material on what we believe and why we believe it.

Homestead Updates
Our granddaughter is now almost a year and a half old, and she is a handful! It’s such a blessing to be able to be part of her life.
This is the first year we’ve been able to harvest avocados from the trees we planted three or four years ago. We are so grateful for the fresh food we’re able to grow at home, and for the time we’re able to spend together as a family.

May God bless you in this coming year. In the midst of the turmoil and dread we may feel when reading the news, our hope is in the One who has a plan for landing this airplane.
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Ephesians 3:20–21 (ESV)
